Boren Awards for International Study:an immersive language and cultural study abroad experience in countries critical to U.S. security

 

Critical Language Scholarship: a fully-funded group-based intensive critical-need language institutes for seven to ten weeks

 

DAAD RISE a summer internship program for research in Germany, 1.5 to 3 months, for undergraduates in biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering

 

Fulbright U.S. Student Program: research/study grants or English teaching grants in over 150 countries

 

Foundation for Global Scholars: funding for students seeking to study abroad anywhere in the world

 

Mark Twain Travel Award: funds toward any local or international travel of any duration

 

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship: awards up to $5,000 for study abroad to Pell Grant recipients

 

UK Fulbright Commission for Summer Institutes: funding for 3-6 week summer programs at a number of UK universities or cultural institutions

 

American Rhodes Scholarship: a highly competitive award for seniors and graduate students that want to study at Oxford. U.S. citizenship required

 

Marshall Scholarship: a highly competitive award available for seniors and graduates to study in the U.K.

 

Churchill Scholarship: funding for graduate students to pursue research in engineering, mathematics, or the biological and physical sciences for one year at the University of Cambridge

 

Gates Cambridge Scholarship: a highly competitive award for graduate study at the University of Cambridge

 

George J. Mitchell Scholarship: a scholarship funded by the U.S.-Ireland Alliance that finances one year of graduate study in Ireland

 

Humanity in Action: an intensive five-week program in Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, or New York focusing on human rights and minority issues

 

Udall Scholarship: awards for sophomores and juniors who demonstrate a commitment to environmental or natural resource issues

 

Harry S. Truman Scholarship: funding for juniors with extensive community involvement and leadership backgrounds who are interested in a career in the public sector

 

Barry Goldwater Scholarship: awards up to $7,500 to sophomores and juniors who plan to be scientists, mathematicians, or engineers

 

Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship: for juniors studying international affairs, political and economic analysis, administration, management, and science policy who are interested in pursuing a Foreign Service career in the U.S. Department of State
