Dr. Tuangtip Klinbubpa-Neff is an Assistant Professor of English and Global Literature at University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She prefers to be call “Dr. Noon.” She was a Fulbright grantee to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 2000-2005. Prior to her teaching experience in the United States, Dr. Klinbubpa-Neff had been teaching American and World Literature at Mahasarakham University (MSU) both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. Noon is an active participant in Pitt-Johnstown’s global curriculum; she created and designed the Global Literature courses, which were subsequently approved and added to general education electives.  Dr. Noon frequently studied abroad when she was a student. In 1988, she spent one year in Sydney, Australia with the American Field Service Program (AFS).  And in 1991, she spent two semesters as an Ambassador of Goodwill for the Rotary International Foundation to Brandeis University, Boston, MA. These years abroad allow her to experience intercultural connections first-hand and to understand the significance of a study-abroad program. In 2011, while serving as an MSU Assistant to the President of International Affairs, Dr. Noon developed strong connections with the US Department of State, US Embassy in Bangkok, and the Fulbright Foundation in order to establish The American Corner at MSU. This is a resource center for American culture and literacy. Since its official opening in 2011, the American Corner has served as a hub where International students and scholars share and establish connections with those from Thailand.
