PITT HOME |FIND PEOPLE
Anne Black volunteered at the Lala Miriam Orphanage for Abandoned Children in Rabat, Morocco over the summer. The orphanage is home to over two-hundred children who were abandoned at birth, mostly due to the country’s strict laws forbidding pregnancy out of wedlock. Her four weeks were spent in the Special Needs Wing of the orphanage. She assisted the nurses in everyday tasks such as bathing the children and young-adults, moving them to the garden to enjoy the sunshine, and helping distribute meals. During the afternoon, Anne attended language and culture classes with the other volunteers.
